Founded in 2002, La Presse Télé is recognized as a leader in the creation, production and distribution of television programming in Québec. It develops and produces quality programs in all genres aimed at a wide audience. Marleen Beaulieu began her career in artistic magazines, as an artistic director and editor. She became creative director and then producer at Coscient, where thanks to her, programs including Benezra and Flash saw the light of day. She then moved to TVA, first as programming production director and then as managing director and vice-president of JPL Production. In 2002 she co-founded La Presse Télé, where she acted as managing director for nine years before being appointed president in May 2011. During the 1990s she contributed in a significant way to several of the major successes on Québec television. Highly involved in the creation, management and production sectors, over the years she has demonstrated exceptional know-how, practical sense, and flair, inestimable assets when it comes to leading her troops. La Presse Télé is an accurate reflection of its president’s personality: creative, high-performing and bringing people together.

PIERRE-ELLIOTT LEVASSEUR

The holder of an MBA from Harvard Business School, Pierre-Elliott Levasseur served as treasurer for Power Corporation of Canada and Power Financial Corporation before being appointed Vice-president, Business Development, at Gesca. He currently occupies the positions of President of Victoria Square Digital Properties and Executive Vice-president, Digital Publishing, at La Presse. A specialist in finance, Pierre-Elliott Levasseur possesses a deep knowledge of the media sector and of digital companies. He piloted the diversification of the firm’s activities through acquisitions and financial stake-holding, including in Workopolis, where he serves as a member of the board. He also acts as a member of the Québec advisory board of the David Suzuki Foundation and a member of the board of directors of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation.

An administrator with highly diversified experience and knowledge both at the operational and strategic levels, Nancy Charest joined La Presse Télé as Director of the Public Affairs, Variety, Magazines and Reality TV sector in November 2009, areas where she is an industry leader. Nancy is a graduate of MusiquePlus, where she began her career. She joined the Productions J team in 1996, first as a producer, then serving as managing director before finally filling the position, from 2002 to 2006, of vice-president of the company’s television sector. She loves large-scale projects: Star Académie, Occupation Double, Le Banquier, La vie est un sport dangereux, Demandes Spéciales – nothing fazes her! Nancy was then recruited by TVA to occupy the position of director of brand and content management. Her enthusiasm when it comes to managing under pressure and her boundless motivation have been inspiring her teams to excel themselves since her earliest days as an administrator.

Izabel Chevrier, Senior Director of Development, joined the La Presse Télé team in 2011. She’s worked for a good number of years in the television world as producer, director, scriptwriter and idea person. Her rich and diversified experience has led her to produce and create for a number of sectors: variety, young-audience fiction, docu-reality, magazine programs, humor series and documentaries. Izabel is recognized by everyone for her great creativity, her leadership qualities and her ability to get people working together.

Her command of production and creation, her enlightened way of looking at things and the quality of her work on content were a key factor over nine years at Groupe Fair Play in the success of numerous series, including Les enfants de la télé, Vrak la vie, Ici Louis-Josée Houde, ADN-X and Peut contenir des Rachid. Her understanding of television production in its entirety is a rare and priceless strength. Developing and creating original content, having her senses alert to our creators and to international trends, opening viewers’ eye and ears – these are her passions.

Joceline joined La Presse Télé in 2004, and right away began producing programs in every genre, from the magazines Manon, tu m'inspires! and La petite séduction to the documentary series Bien ou Mal on TV5 and La vie après la Mort on Canal D. Currently she is producing the new drama series Les Parent on Radio-Canada. Joceline came to us from the world of drama and film, where she successfully worked on series and movies with prominent personalities like Richard Desjardins, Isabelle Hayeur, Jean-François Mercier, Christian Larouche, François Delisle and Catherine Zeta-Jones (!), to name just a few.

Sébastien has been part of the La Presse Télé team since 2005. He works on concept development, applying his directorial expertise. Full of resources and ideas, he directs teams shooting both in the studio and on location, from pre-production to post-production. His achievements include Bec et Museau, Sucré-Salé, 2 Filles le Matin, Le Match des Étoiles, L'Espace d'un été, Métamorphose, Frank vs Girard, La Petite Séduction, L'Heure de Gloire and Grosse Journée.

A director and producer by profession, Ivan arrived at La Presse Télé in 2006 for the public-affairs magazine program Dernière édition on Télé-Québec. A man of many parts, he worked among other things as a journalist for L’Actualité, the magazine Commerce, La Presse and Québec Science, then as editor in chief and program designer for various players in current affairs, including Jean-Luc Mongrain, Claude Charron and Paul Arcand, on TVA. He headed the newsroom at TVA, and was editor in chief at the TQS newsroom. Ivan then moved on to directing and producing a number of magazine and public-affairs shows. At La Presse Télé he’s been in charge of the magazine programs Passez au Vert on TV5, Chasseur de Mystères and Raconte pour voir on Historia and Billets Verts on Canal Vie. At the moment he’s producing the documentary series J’ai frôlé la mort and Vies Parallèles for Canal D as well as the program Écrous et Boulons for Historia.

Julie earned her stripes in young-audience production on the program Banzaï. In 2006 she joined the La Presse Télé team as research assistant on the productions Frank vs Girard, La Petite Séduction and Passez au vert before becoming head researcher on La Petite Séduction. Quickly her passion for young people led her to take part in the development of a number of young-audience projects at La Presse Télé, including Ça plane pour moi. Today she is content producer on the shows Ça plane pour moi and Le Club des doigts croisés in addition to serving as director of young-audience development. She draws on her talent to produce young-audience programs that are entertaining and original, and all of it in good humor!

Benoit joined the La Presse Télé team in 2007 as content producer for La Petite Séduction on Radio-Canada and Manon, tu m'inspires! on Canal Vie. A veritable show-business encyclopedia, he has worked in artistic fields for 20 years, doing duty as columnist, researcher and script editor with Danielle Ouimet, France Beaudoin, Charles Lafortune, Julie Snyder, Marc Labrèche and Patrice Lécuyer, to name just these. A journalist and author, he has published many interviews in various magazines, as well as biographies of Mario Pelchat and Michel Jasmin.

Guylaine Pelletier

Guylaine has acquired substantial experience in the television milieu. She held financial management positions at Productions Sovimage as well as at Cirque du Soleil. Guylaine is a chartered account by training, and has also worked at Samson Belair/Deloitte & Touche. She is a solid addition to the firm and continues to offer her expertise in her very own way to short and full-length films and advertisements. At La Presse Télé she works on all productions as finance director.

Martine joined La Presse Télé in 2010. She possesses great experience in intellectual property and in entertainment law. After she articled at the law offices of Léger Robic Richard, Martine’s services were solicited by the well-known firm Lavery de Billy. She then joined the legal department of Les Chaînes Télé Astral, a division of Astral Media, where she spent 8 years as administrator and senior legal advisor, among other positions. Later, Société Radio-Canada drafted her to work in media law until La Presse Télé recruited her in turn. Accepted immediately by the team because of her great efficiency and her perpetual good humor, she will be contributing to the company’s growth as far as all legal matters are concerned – including the sale of our own formats!

Marie Claude Coutu joined the La Presse Télé team in 2002, first as production director, and is now producer on the Ricardo program. For more than 15 years, Marie-Claude has been making her mark in television-production circles in Québec. She’s been part of a number of productions as assistant to the director, director, production manager and producer. At La Presse Télé, Marie-Claude has been with Ricardo since the beginning, collaborating on the very first show. Later she was involved in the productions Réseaux clandestins, Le Match des étoiles, La Petite Séduction, Chasseurs de Mystères, Billets Verts, Raconte pour voir!, Dumont 360 and L’Attaque à 5. She excels in drafting budgets, and her great experience “on the ground” stands her in good stead when it comes to evaluating the costs of a project in development.

Josée worked for 10 years in the legal arena before making the switch to the cultural sphere. In 1996, she devoted herself definitively to production as well as to the development of several large-scale productions, including Les Rescapés, Chaplin, Caméra Café (seasons I to VII), Martin Matte’s Comment devenir excellent, La vraie nature (seasons I and II) and the Gala Grand Rire series (seasons 2009 and 2010). She’s also produced a number of specials, such as Spécial Rentrée on Radio-Canada, Gala des Olivier, Martin Matte’s Histoires vraies and Condamné à l’excellence, Simplement… Mario Jean, Morency Live, Gary Kurtz’s Juste une illusion, Claudine Mercier, Patrick Huard’s Face à face… Josée latterly joined the La Presse Télé team as a freelance executive producer for the production of the show En direct de l’univers hosted by France Beaudoin.

Dominique Savoie

Dominique Savoie has been working in television for 15 years, starting as a research assistant (Les Mordus, Christiane Charrette, La vie est un sport dangereux, Tôt ou tard, Les couche-tôt, etc). At the same time she was casting director for some fiction series (La vie, la vie, L’ombre de l’épervier) and variety programming: Star Académie (2003, 2004, 2005), Occupation double, L’école des fans, Le Banquier, La classe de 5e, Les Chefs!

She later worked as executive producer for programs like Dans ma caméra, Dans chacun de mes silences, Les coulisses de Star Académie and RÉAL-IT and as artistic director for the Téléthon Enfant soleil and the Téléthon de la recherche sur les maladies infantiles.

Dominique Savoie has also been host, idea person and content producer of the documentary series Ça pourrait nous arriver (La fécondation in vitro, L’adoption, Le don d’organes and Changer de vie) broadcast on the TVA network in 2007 and 2008. She then continued her career as an interviewer with the series La Familia, which dealt with maternity and paternity issues and which aired on TVA in 2010.

She has collaborated with La Presse Télé since February 2010 as casting director and as executive content and program development producer.

Micho is above all a storyteller. His qualities as an author and a creator come from his first love – the movies. His originality is rooted in the desire to do things differently. And it was his endless curiosity and his passion for interactivity that led him naturally to new media. His ability to bring people together, his way of heading teams elegantly and easily, and the confidence he conveys to creators are strengths that lend him a unique style and vision. His candor and his humor enable him to rally a circle of people around him who are looking for a balance between the profundity of a work and entertainment. Entirely committed and constructively empathetic, he’s as loyal to his collaborators as he is to his projects. On the basis of his practical and technical experience in the field, his knowledge of script development and his thoroughness, he joined the La Presse Télé team, in 2010, as Executive producer, new media.
